Apparel Insider launches natural fibres title

208

A new print and digital magazine has been launched to educate and inform the fashion industry about global natural fibres supply chains. Natural Fibres Insight will be produced four times per year by the publishers of Apparel Insider.

This new title will connect farmers with fashion through best-in-class research and journalism. It arrives at a time when there is growing scrutiny of global fashion supply chains.

Sourcing and sustainability teams are under pressure to have comprehensive oversight of supply chains. Moreover, regulatory bodies around the world are now becoming active on this issue.

Agricultural systems and processes associated with natural fibres such as cotton and wool have long-since been under the spotlight. What is the carbon footprint of these systems and what kind of other environmental challenges do they throw up? And what are the social issues which need to be considered in natural fibres supply chains?

Such issues are nuanced and vary greatly depending on a range of factors, including geographic context, farming methods, culture and so on.

Natural Fibres Insight explore these issues in-depth while also spotlighting new, innovative and interesting projects and initiatives around the world relating to the production of natural fibres.

The sustainability challenges relating to natural fibres will be examined, as well as the economic imperative of meeting the requirements of fashion sourcing and compliance teams.

Natural Fibres Insight will collaborate with key industry associations such as the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO) and Discover Natural Fibres Imitative (DNFI) to gather and disseminate the latest industry research and best practice.

Harnessing the organic reach of sister publication, Apparel Insider, this new publication will reach a huge on and offline audience of sustainability executives, buyers, decision makers and thought leaders – including our combined social media following of more than 55,000 followers on X, LinkedIn and Instagram.

This title will also be printed and distributed at global textile exhibitions and conferences, eg Premiere Vision, Performance Days, ISPO, Natural Fibres Connect, Bremen Cotton Conference etc
