Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), the first fully integrated viscose rayon producer in Asia, organized a customer meet at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka, on Thursday, 6 June 2024. With the theme “Viscose & Lyocell Opportunities for Bangladesh’s Textile Industry,” the event provides a platform for industry leaders to exchange insights, discuss innovations and collaborations.
APR’s market share has grown steadily, and the company has also seen Lyocell consumption increasing. Being more sustainable compare to other man-made cellulosic fibres, increased Lyocell utilization in garment production holds promising opportunities to make Bangladesh as a hub for sustainable textiles. To solidify its commitment to Bangladesh’s market, the company organized a stakeholder meet event with diverse participants, with approximately up to 120 representatives from the spinners, sourcing hubs, and downstream retailers attended the event.
Sachin Malik, Global Sales Head of APR, said, “There is a significant projected increase in the demand for fibres, particularly driven by the expected growth in MMCF. APR is dedicated to becoming the leading MMCF producer and ensuring stability in the supply chain to meet the evolving requirements of brands and customers.”

Using a unique and high technology manufacturing process, Lyocell fibre has outstanding dry and wet strength, high uniformity and consistency, and superior quality.
APR operates a world-class viscose staple fibre production facility which meet and exceed requirements of the European Union Best Available Techniques (EU BAT) Polymer BREF and Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals Man-made Cellulosic Fibres (ZDHC MMCF) guidelines. Our products also adhere to FKT, OK biodegradability labels, certification from OEKOTEX, an independent Swiss-based certification organization for viscose staple fibre.
