Leading digital textile solutions provider SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan, together with its European subsidiary SHIMA SEIKI EUROPE, LTD., will exhibit at the PI Apparel Fashion Technology Show Europe 2026 in London, England this month. The exhibition serves as a setting to connect the apparel industry with the latest digital technology and sustainability initiatives that power the future of fashion. In line with this theme, SHIMA SEIKI will offer solutions that optimize product development workflows and enhance sustainability through Digital Product Creation (DPC).
DPC is achieved with SHIMA SEIKI’s APEXFiz subscription-based design software, which digitally supports the creative side of fashion from planning and design to realistic textile simulation and 3D virtual sampling for flat knitting. Using scanned data of actual yarn, digital products created on APEXFiz are a digitized version of sample making that are accurate enough to be used effectively as 3D prototypes, replacing physical sampling and consequently reducing time, cost and material that otherwise go to waste. When a design is approved for production, knitting data which is automatically generated can be converted easily into machine data, for real-world production of digitally developed products. Other textile applications including circular knitting, weaving, embroidery and towel weaving can be expressed using realistic fabric simulations. Seamless transition to manufacturing for these textile production methods is also possible. As with knit simulations, fabric simulations of other types of textiles are also very realistic, and many users opt to utilize APEXFiz alongside other 3D software. APEXFiz promotes automation and labor-savings from product development through prototyping to production in many areas, thereby contributing to digitalization and sustainability for supply chains across several different disciplines.
