Crystal International Group Limited has been devoting concerted efforts in empowering women for more than a decade. In line with Crystal Sustainability Vision 2030, the Group has become a member of the Reimagining Industry to Support Equality (“RISE” or “SERI” in Vietnam), joining the collaborative initiative with the goal of preventing gender-based violence and harassment and advancing women empowerment in global garment supply chains.

With females making up over 70% of the global workforce, Crystal International further expanded women empowerment initiative by rolling out the SERI Respect programme in the intimate factory in Vietnam. In the first cohort, the factory successfully trained 190 Change Makers who were equipped with essential knowledge including gender relationship, violence and harassment, as well as communication skills. Upon the completion of the pilot programme, the factory established a formal Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee whose members receive in-depth trainings on preventing, identifying, and handling sexual harassment cases at the workplace.

Alongside the RISE programme, the Group also provides different trainings in collaboration with customers and NGOs, development opportunities, and wellness support to women of all job levels, to enhance their professional and personal skills, enabling them to thrive. To date, Crystal International has empowered more than 77,000 female employees globally.

“Joining RISE membership signifies our momentum in scaling up impactful training across global operations. Going beyond, we envision that all our female employees could unleash full potential through diversified programmes while contributing to the equitable workplaces,” said Catherine Chiu, Vice President – Corporate Quality & Sustainability at Crystal International.

Participation in the industry-leading programme demonstrates the commitment to investing in women empowerment resources at global factories. The Group is taking proactive actions to cultivate and accelerate influence towards a more respectful working environment in the fashion supply chain.
