Studio Heritage Living (SHL), a strategic sourcing and product development advisory, has concluded its participation at Fall 2026 NY Home Fashions Market Week (September 14–17), reinforcing its focus on helping home textile manufacturers develop stronger product narratives and retail propositions. As part of its participation, SHL designed the complete retail architecture for Alok Industries’ Home Textiles Division at its Madison Avenue showroom, translating the manufacturer’s product offerings into a structured, consumer-oriented retail experience.
As consumer preferences and retail expectations continue to evolve, manufacturers are increasingly recognising the importance of moving beyond traditional product specifications to communicate the purpose, value and relevance of their product ranges. Through its work, Studio Heritage Living aims to bridge the gap between product development and retail presentation, helping manufacturers build cohesive B2B narratives that connect product selection, pricing, packaging and merchandising with the requirements of retailers and sourcing professionals.
A key highlight of SHL’s participation was its collaboration with Alok Industries, where the studio designed the showroom’s retail architecture around four distinct sleep platforms: Recovery, Reset, Restore and Balance. Each platform was developed around a specific consumer need, product story and dedicated retail presentation, creating a structured approach to showcasing Alok Industries’ product offerings to buyers.
The retail architecture brought together product development, packaging, pricing and merchandising to demonstrate how manufacturers can present their product ranges as integrated, store-ready propositions. The showcase received a strong response from retailers, highlighting the relevance of creating clear and differentiated product narratives within the B2B buying environment.
Speaking about the collaboration, Biji Chacko, COO, Alok Industries, said: “It has been a wonderful experience working with Studio Heritage Living. They helped us in designing this thought process, and within a short time, they did a marvelous job. I am very happy with the work Disha and her team have done in putting everything in place, developing the packaging, and helping to develop the products. It was a wonderful experience working with them.”
The collaboration also reflected Alok Industries’ shift towards a more consumer-oriented product development approach. Moving beyond a conventional focus on manufacturing capabilities and thread-count-led specifications, the company explored product stories centred on comfort, wellness and functionality, including breathable and performance fabrics and natural material options. Studio Heritage Living’s retail architecture helped translate these product directions into a cohesive presentation for retail buyers.
Disha Shah, Founder, Studio Heritage Living, said: “The home textiles industry is evolving, and manufacturers today have an opportunity to communicate their product offerings through stronger, more integrated stories. Retail architecture is about bringing clarity to how a product is positioned, presented and communicated to the retailer. Our work with Alok Industries reflects this approach, bringing together product development, packaging and merchandising to create a retail proposition that connects the manufacturer with the needs of the market.”
Beyond the Alok Industries collaboration, SHL’s meetings with other manufacturing companies during Market Week provided an opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders on the growing importance of retail architecture and product storytelling. The discussions reflected the need for manufacturers to develop stronger narratives around their product ranges, enabling retailers to better understand product differentiation, pricing, functionality and consumer relevance.
With its experience across sourcing, manufacturing, buying, product development and consumer-oriented strategy, SHL continues to work towards establishing itself as a strategic partner for manufacturers seeking to strengthen their retail propositions. Its approach focuses on supporting partners in translating product capabilities into clear and compelling stories, from price and product positioning to packaging and presentation.
The collaboration with Alok Industries at NY Home Fashions Market Week demonstrates how retail architecture can help manufacturers bring their product stories to life in a B2B environment, connecting manufacturing expertise with the evolving expectations of retailers and the global home textiles market.
