YKK Corporation announced that YKK Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd., a YKK Group company, held commemorative events marking its 50th anniversary in Durban, South Africa, on September 30 and in the Kingdom of Eswatini on October 1 and 2.
Established in June 1976, YKK Southern Africa operates a manufacturing facility for fastening products in the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). Since its establishment, the company has expanded its business by supplying customers throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, and has become one of the region’s key manufacturing and sales bases.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, approximately 50 customers and employees gathered in Durban, South Africa, on September 30. The program included a commemorative video reviewing YKK Southern Africa’s 50-year history and an awards ceremony.
On October 1, YKK Southern Africa held a celebration in Mbabane, Eswatini, attended by His Majesty King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini of the Kingdom of Zulu Nation in South Africa, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini of the Kingdom of Eswatini, and approximately 600 guests. During the event, the company expressed its gratitude to the local community and stakeholders for their continued support and reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable growth and development in the years ahead.
On October 2, YKK Southern Africa held a 50th anniversary ceremony at its manufacturing facility in Manzini, Eswatini. The program included a factory tour and a commemorative tree-planting ceremony.
YKK Southern Africa will continue to conduct business in close partnership with the local community and contribute to the region’s sustainable development.
