Three-day Surat textile expo successfully ended

Sources said over 100 exhibitors from different parts of the country, involved in manufacturing textile machinery, participated in the expo held at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre of Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) – which is organising the event – at Sarsana.

The three-day Surat International Textile Expo (SITEX) 2024, displayed the latest textile machinery, commenced from 6-8 january 2024.

Addressing the expo, Additional Commissioner (Textiles) S P Verma said, “In the last four years, we have disbursed Rs 20,000 crore under Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS)… Also, in the last four years, textile machinery worth over Rs 20,000 crore were imported from China, Germany, Belgium, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam, among others… Further, textile machinery worth Rs 14,000 crore has been exported from India…”
