Gartex Texprocess India New Delhi 2022 demonstrates India’s domestic expertise in garment and textile production attracting over 11,000 visitors

Backed by strong support from the Ministry of Textiles and chief industry associations, Gartex Texprocess India came to a resounding conclusion with a footfall of 11,258 visitors in its seventh edition at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The trade fair also proved instrumental in promoting India’s domestic capabilities in denim and fabric production.

India’s leading trade fair on garment and textile machinery, fabrics, accessories, and allied industries, Gartex Texprocess India has recorded its second successive edition, this year. Following a successful Mumbai launch earlier in May, the trade fair that recently concluded in New Delhi witnessed a gathering of over 11,258 business visitors from 335 cities of 26 Indian states and 3 union territories.

The trade fair also attracted international visitors from 21 countries including France, Indonesia, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, UAE, the UK and the USA, owing to an extensive display of over 1,000 products and machinery from 207 exhibitors.

Incorporated with Denim Show, Fabrics & Trims Show and Screen Print India, the trade fair received immense support from the Ministry of Textiles and trade bodies such as The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), Retailers Association of India (RAI) and the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).

Moreover, the trade fair’s organisers MEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd and Messe Frankfurt India also joined hands with industry bodies like Denim Manufacturers Association (DMA) and FABEXA, the nodal arm of Maskati Cloth Mahajan to bring India’s top denim and fabric manufacturers to showcase their production capabilities.

Companies from Ahmedabad’s Maskati Cloth Mahajan who participated at the exhibition booked orders worth 300 crores (USD 37 million) during the show days. Elaborating on the trade fair’s role in promoting fabric manufacturers, Mr Babulal Sonigra, Ex-Chairman, FABEXA Committee, Maskati Cloth Market Mahajan, shared: “Over 11,000 traders visited the show and around 300 crores orders were booked during the three show days. We look forward to a prosperous Diwali season this year and are hopeful that orders worth 400 crores (USD 50 million) will be booked by then. Through this fair, a lot of our members are hopeful of new business closures.”

With a 42% growth in exhibitor participation, business visitors were impressed by the scale and quality of Gartex Texprocess India New Delhi 2022. Mr Jayesh Kothari, President – Buying and Merchandising, V-Mart, who attended the fair, shared: “It is a great place for people to meet, connect, place orders and look at new developments that are coming through. I saw a lot of new things and will definitely get in touch with the exhibitors.”

Gartex Texprocess India New Delhi 2022 also accrued positive feedback from exhibitors, such as Mr Parag Kothari, Director, Jaysynth Group, who said: “This year we displayed our Digichrome printing solutions and new reactive inks and received an excellent response from clients and visitors. We look forward to participating next year as well.”

Promoting India’s expertise in denim fabrication, The Denim Show featured top 25 denim mills including Jindal Worldwide Ltd, Arvind Ltd, Raymond UCO Denim Ltd, LNJ Denim, Siyaram Silk Mills Ltd, Kanchan Group who brought their latest denim products at the show. Impressed with the buzzing showfloor and quality business interactions, Mr Aamir Akhtar, Group President & CEO, Jindal Worldwide, commented: “Gartex Texprocess India gave us an opportunity to meet the entire supply chain at a single platform. The exhibition keeps getting more popular with each passing edition, attracting all categories of customers such as distributors, retailers, dealers, cutters and much more.”

The three-day b2b fair also highlighted India’s growing local expertise in cotton and natural fabric production through the Fabrics & Trims Show. Hosted under a specially allotted segment, the Fabrics & Trims Show displayed products from around 82 Gujarat-based fabric manufacturers and welcomed over 200 fabrics sourcing representatives. Sharing his experience as an exhibitor at Fabrics & Trims Show, Mr Dhruv Agarwal, Owner, Anjali Textile Mills, shared: “We encountered various clients who showed interest in our old products as well as new developments. This exhibition also allowed us to meet our old clients and rejuvenate business relationships.”

Held alongside the trio of textile and garment fairs, Screen Print India showcased manufacturing technologies for textile, digital and screen printing from various leading brands. Mr Bunny Bhardwaj, Business Development Manager, DCC Print Vision LLP, who exhibited at Screen Print India, shared his feedback: “We were greatly looking forward to this exhibition as soon the pandemic receded. Footfalls were good during all three show days. We thank Gartex Texprocess India for giving us great exposure.”

An exclusive forum which was also organised during the show days addressed insightful topics such as ‘impact of content creation’, ‘trends AW 2023’, ‘reducing audit fatigue through SLCP’, and ‘Fashion Forward – Challenges, strategies and opportunities’ proving Gartex Texprocess India to be an all-round sourcing and knowledge platform.

After delivering two strong back-to-back editions this year, Gartex Texprocess India aims to unite the industry once more by providing exemplary business opportunities through its eighth and ninth editions which will be held from 11 – 13 May 2023 and 3 – 5 August 2023 at Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai and Pragati Maidan, New Delhi respectively.
