Cotton purchase in Tamil Nadu is continuously decline

In Tamil Nadu, the consumption rate of cotton in textile mills is expected to go slow down till the end of Q3 (September to December) because of reduce in demand in the international market for textile and clothing products.

Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF), a trade body of the state recently conducted a survey among 132 textile mills which have a total of 61 lakhs spindles.

In the previous year, 132 textile mills in the state consume 15.37 lakh bales of cotton between October and December but this year according to the survey there are only 10.56 lakh bales during the same quarter of 2022.
