Messe Frankfurt organizes sustainability summit in India

Messe Frankfurt and Constellar will jointly host the first Mission Net Zero India Summit in New Delhi in December. The Indian subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt, Messe Frankfurt India, has concluded a strategic alliance with one of the largest trade fair organizers in Asia and operator of the sustainably certified destination Singapore EXPO.

On the way to climate neutrality by 2070, India wants to decisively advance the development of sustainable energy and mobility with investments worth billions and global cooperation. High-level network platforms such as the Mission Net Zero India Summit are designed to help achieve long-term development goals. “We look forward to a successful cooperation with Constellar. The joint organization of the summit gives us the opportunity to incorporate our many years of expertise as organizers of leading technical trade fairs. The event portfolio of Messe Frankfurt largely reflects the social transformation towards sustainability.

More than 5,000 participants expected

Under the motto “Accelerating India’s Net Zero Transition and Global Leadership”, the event on December 7th and 8th will be attended by political decision-makers as well as important national and international representatives from industry and science. The focus of the summit is on innovations and future technologies, which will be presented in high-calibre panels and keynotes. 150 speakers, 5,000 delegates and visitors as well as 100 exhibiting companies and sponsors are expected at the first Mission Net Zero India Summit.

Messe Frankfurt with a far-reaching sustainability strategy

Sustainability is a central pillar of Messe Frankfurt’s corporate strategy. By the end of 2023, Messe Frankfurt is aiming to be the first company in the German trade fair industry to obtain a certificate from the environmental management system EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). The company is a member of the United Nations Global Compact, the Diversity Charter and the sustainability code far obliged. In 2022, Messe Frankfurt completed an ESG rating (environmental, social, governance) for the first time and achieved the bronze medal. The company supports the sustainability initiatives of the industry associations AUMA and UFI and has signed the “Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge”.
