Lectra, a leading provider of industrial intelligence technology solutions to players in fashion, automotive and furniture, announces the appointment of Amit Gautam, Founder and CEO of TextileGenesis, to its Executive Committee.
In December 2022, Lectra announced the acquisition of a majority stake in the Dutch company TextileGenesis. This step is aligned with Lectra’s approach to expanding its presence in the fashion market, by covering an additional strategic link in its customers’ value chain with a pioneering offer that ensures reliable, secure and fully digitized traceability of the material used in textile production.
“By combining our talents with those of the TextileGenesis teams, we have accelerated the development of this particularly innovative traceability solution, which provides different levels of traceability and has been extended to the footwear and leather goods markets, as well as to medium-sized fashion companies. This fits perfectly with our commitment to helping our customers reduce their environmental impact,” mentions Maximilien Abadie, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Product Officer de Lectra.
“Amit Gautam has played an extremely positive role in the successful integration of TextileGenesis, which contributes to the development of our software sales in SaaS mode,” says Daniel Harari, Chairman and CEO of Lectra. “ With more than two billion products tracked to date, this traceability platform has become essential for many fashion companies, including several leading brands such as Kering, Ermenegildo Zegna, H&M, Bestseller and On. Amit is joining Lectra’s Executive Committee to pursue this development and reinforce synergies with the Group’s other offerings. His in-depth knowledge of sustainability issues, the fashion ecosystem and the potential of new technologies will be invaluable in meeting the economic, social and environmental challenges faced by this industry.”
Before founding TextileGenesis, Amit Gautam was Executive Vice President for the fashion sector at Lenzing, a world leader in sustainable materials innovation, based in Austria. He was responsible for global sales, marketing and commercialization of innovations for the textile sector.
