SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at New BTKG Exhibition

Leading computerized flat knitting innovator SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan is exhibiting at the BTKG 2026 Bangladesh International Textile, Knitting and Garment Industry Exhibition in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in cooperation with its partner Pacific R S F Associates Ltd. later this month. The new BTKG exhibition has become the foremost platform for driving the growth of Bangladesh’s textile, knitting and garment industry, showcasing innovative technologies, sustainable solutions, and the latest market trends. SHIMA SEIKI maintains its strong presence within this market through its latest lineup at BTKG, emphasizing its core strength in cutting-edge WHOLEGARMENT® knitting technology, in addition to displaying a brand-new shaping machine with high productivity and excellent cost performance.

Capable of knitting an entire garment in one piece without the need for linking or sewing while using only the material required to knit one garment at a time, WHOLEGARMENT® knitting is well-known for promoting sustainability for brands and suppliers alike. The company is showing its MACH2®XS153 WHOLEGARMENT® knitting machine in 15L gauge. Featuring 4 needle beds and SHIMA SEIKI’s original SlideNeedleTM, MACH2®XS is capable of producing high-quality fine gauge WHOLEGARMENT® knitwear in all needles. In addition, the SWG®091N2 “Mini” WHOLEGARMENT® knitting machine provides opportunities in WHOLEGARMENT® knitting across a wide range of items in a compact, economical package, and will be shown in 15 gauge. On a different note, the N.SVR®183 WHOLEGARMENT® knitting machine is based on the N.SVR® series shaping machine, but is customized to produce WHOLEGARMENT® knitwear using every other needle. Shown in 21 gauge, N.SVR®183 is the ideal machine for flexible, entry-level WHOLEGARMENT® production of 10-gauge items.

The N.SSR® series, SHIMA SEIKI’s global standard in shaped knitting, features a brand-new model, which will be shown for the first time in Bangladesh at BTKG. The N.SSR®132 builds on proven and renowned SHIMA SEIKI technology such as the R2CARRIAGE® system, Digital Stitch Control System (DSCS®), and spring-type moveable sinker system, and features a 52-inch (132 cm) knitting width to accommodate larger sizes, offering the flexibility required for responding to diverse customer and market needs at an economical price-range, all while maintaining Made-in-Japan SHIMA SEIKI quality and reliability. The N.SSR®132 will be shown in 7 gauge.

Demonstrations are available on SHIMA SEIKI’s SDS®-ONE APEX4 3D design system, which supports the creative side of fashion from planning and design to realistic fabric simulation and 3D virtual sampling. Virtual samples are a digitized version of sample making that are accurate enough to be used effectively as prototypes, replacing physical sampling and consequently reducing time, cost and material that would otherwise go to waste. Moreover, users can take advantage of this capability not only on the design side but also on the production side. Suppliers can make proposals by leveraging their own expertise in knitting and materials, allowing accelerated product development. When a design is approved for production, knitting data which is automatically generated can be converted easily into machine data, digitally bridging the gap between design studio and knitting factory. SDS®-ONE APEX4 helps to realize sustainability while digitally transforming the fashion supply chain.
