Leading flat knitting solutions company SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan, will be participating in the ITMA Asia + CITME 2026 exhibition in Shanghai, China, in November. SHIMA SEIKI continues with its concept of “SHIMA SEIKI Reborn” for this year’s exhibition.
The concept signifies the renewal of our passion and commitment to innovation, manifesting in physical form as the R-generation machines. Visitors to the SHIMA SEIKI booth will experience the latest flat knitting solutions, including the SES-R computerized flat knitting machine, which carries forward the legacy of the pioneering SES series.
The SES-R features a new sinker system that expands its product range even further with unprecedented 3D shaping capability for efficient knitting of diverse patterns that support various industries. In addition, a more cost-effective version of the SES-R will be unveiled for the first time at ITMA Asia + CITME 2026. Also on display will be the N.SSR132 computerized flat knitting machine that was introduced at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore, and proved to be particularly popular with visitors from the South and Southeast Asian markets for its economical advantage and its 52-inch (132 cm) knitting width for flexibility in accommodating larger sizes.
SHIMA SEIKI’s renowned WHOLEGARMENT seam-free knitting technology will be represented by two machines. MACH2XS153 features 4 needle beds and SHIMA SEIKI’s original SlideNeedle™ for producing high-quality fine gauge WHOLEGARMENT knitwear in all needles. The SWG061N2 “Mini” machine on the other hand provides opportunities in WHOLEGARMENT knitting across a wide range of items including technical knits in a compact, economical package.
In addition to machine technology, comprehensive digital solutions will be presented including SDS KnitPaint-Online knit software, APEXFiz design software for realistic fabric simulation and 3D virtual sampling, and various online solutions provided by the SHIMA SEIKI Online Services web platform.
