Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris — nearly 1,200 exhibitors from 26 countries will gather in hall 7 of Paris Expo

Messe Frankfurt France’s full range of textile and apparel products will be on display for three days in the fashion capital: Texworld and Apparel Sourcing will be joined by the Avantex sector, which brings together suppliers of innovative solutions for a more efficient and sustainable fashion industry, and Leatherworld, dedicated to the leather industry, from raw materials to finished products. A total of 1,154 companies from 26 countries will be represented on two levels of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles (7.2 and 7.3). This summer’s edition will feature several new initiatives.

Focus on yarn at Yarn Expo, leather trends at Leatherworld

Among the new features at Texworld 2024 is a pavilion devoted entirely to yarn, in Hall 7.2. Organized in conjunction with Yarn Expo – a Messe Frankfurt trade show originally based in Shanghai – this space will take visitors upstream in the yarn industry, shedding light on the know-how of cutting-edge companies from China, India, Pakistan and Taiwan. Leatherworld, meanwhile, will host a trend area featuring the show’s Italian manufacturers. Co-produced with publisher Edizioni AF and Arsutoria School’s Design Center, the Leather Trend will showcase, on four separate podiums, the major current trends in the components used to manufacture shoes and bags. These presentations will be enhanced twice a day by a series of twenty-minute mini-conferences.

Focus on Chinese brands, new accessory categories

This year, Apparel Sourcing welcomes around thirty Chinese manufacturers, offering their own brands as well as to produce under white label for European distributors. They will be identified by a special “Chinese Brands Gallery” logo, to make it easier for buyers to find what they’re looking for. This offer will also be visible and displayed on mannequins in the Chinese Brands Gallery Bar in Hall 7.3. In the spirit of openness, another new element at this year’s autumn edition is the introduction of exclusive new categories in the fashion accessories sector – jewelry and bag ranges – to enable buyers to complete and expand their collections.

More near sourcing

Near sourcing countries have not been forgotten this year, as the offer of some twenty Portuguese, Turkish and Serbian companies will be accessible on the Near Sourcing Hub: the samples on display are linked by QR Code to the digital B2B platform of FourSource, a partner of Messe Frankfurt France. This feature enables visitors to obtain detailed information or to be guided through the contact process. African production, which is playing an increasingly important role in global fashion sourcing, will also be in Paris, with companies from Rwanda and Ethiopia at Apparel Sourcing, and from South Africa at Leatherworld.

Econogy Tour: guided tours around the sustainable economy

Trade fairs continue to focus on Texpertise Econogy, which combines the notions of ecology and economic development. Championed by the Messe Frankfurt Group, this concept now frames the approach taken by its Texpertise Network worldwide, and can be applied in various ways. Firstly, the Econogy Finder, an online directory accessible via the Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris application, enables visitors to identify all sustainably produced textile suppliers (around 80 companies). These exhibitors’ booths, whose CSR commitments have been verified by a third-party organization, will also be marked with Econogy symbols.

New for 2024, two Econogy Tours will enable visitors to meet a selection of Econogy-certified companies and discover their products and services. These guided tours, led by a specialist in the sustainable approach, will be operated on Monday and Tuesday for buyers who wish to do so (appointments are set for 12:30 p.m. in the agora). Last but not least, Econogy Talks will mark out conferences dealing with topics linked to the sustainable economy (see conference program below) to help visitors manage their schedule.

A new Designer Hub completes the ReSources area at Avantex

Some twenty suppliers will be exhibiting at this year’s Avantex sector, which has been enriched by the addition of a Designer Hub. This meeting place for designers and buyers will provide an opportunity to discover original initiatives such as designer Jean-Luc François’ association, supported by Messe Frankfurt’s Texpertise network, which trains people with little access to employment, 3D design expert Scotomalab, and stylists and designers Rozz Connor and Maeva Elfassi.

The ReSources area completes Avantex’s offering with a selection of materials at the cutting edge of sustainable innovation: 4 companies (two German, one French and one Greek), selected in partnership with the TCBL association, have collaborated on the European HEREWEAR project aimed at creating tomorrow’s locally-produced circular textiles and clothing from bio-based waste. The outcome of their collaboration, presented for the first time in France, will be exhibited in phygital mode: the samples on display will be connected by a QR Code to the FourSource matchmaking platform.

Avantex Fashion Pitch: solutions for tomorrow’s fashion

The Avantex Fashion Pitch contest rewards the best innovative and sustainable fashion and textile projects. The selected winners will present their work on July 1 at 4:00 pm in the form of a 5-minute pitch to a panel of experts composed of:

– Claudia Cesiro, Founder of The Ace Project and start-up mentor,
– Élodie Lemaire-Nowinski, Director of the National Tartan Centre Project, and researcher at the Glasgow School of Art,
– Yoobin Jung Venture Associate – Sustainability at Plug&Play Tech Center
– Jayne Estève-Curé, fashion and luxury expert.
The winner will receive a “Start-Up” stand at the next edition of Avantex, a €2,000 prize provided by Messe Frankfurt France and the Texpertise network, as well as a year’s incubation in the Foundry at IFA Paris.

Conferences, trends and forecasting

True to its mission as a pathfinder, the Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris platform does its utmost to offer visitors perspectives on market trends and demand orientation. Conferences and events in the Agora on Monday July 1 and Tuesday July 2 will explore market trends and forecasts in detail. Louis Gérin, one of the shows’ two Artistic Directors, will comment on “IMPERFaiCTION”, the Trendbook for the Autumn-Winter 2025/2026 season, highlighting the creative directions that will shape tomorrow’s fashion (Monday July 1 at 1:30pm). Several round tables on the Avantex Paris agenda will focus on innovative textiles and solutions to support fashion’s ecological and digital transition, and will be categorized as Econogy Talks (green background).

VIATT 2025: multifaceted fair poised to aid rejuvenation of Vietnam’s textile industry

After navigating the challenges of 2023, Vietnam’s textile and garment exports have been gradually recovering. Additionally, foreign direct investment (FDI) into Vietnam during the first five months of this year reached USD 11 billion, a 2% year-on-year increase, according to the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI). To cater to Vietnam’s renewed business opportunities, the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) will return from 26 – 28 February 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

“The invaluable feedback from the first edition of VIATT has driven us to make next year’s fair even stronger, and look forward to its increasing importance in our global textile framework,” said Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “With Vietnam’s business environment on the upswing, we are excited about VIATT 2025’s potential to serve as an effective, on-trend platform for harnessing and supplementing the renewed growth of the country’s textile industry, across multiple sub-sectors.”

The fair’s inaugural edition attracted 409 exhibitors and 17,262 visits from 17 and 55 countries and regions respectively. Building on this solid foundation, VIATT 2025 will continue to showcase the latest industry trends, and expand its focus on various pertinent areas. This will include the fair’s new Econogy Hub, a dedicated zone to advance the topic of sustainability in the textile industry, and to relate it closely to the demands of economic and social change. Together with the evolving environmental landscape, the fair will also help industry players adapt to the rapid adoption of new technology in the business world with the debut of the Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone. This zone will allow exhibitors to unveil the latest technology and solutions such as AI design, digital manufacturing, big data analytics, and more.

Concurrently, VIATT 2025 will continue to present a diverse range of exhibitors across the apparel, home textile and technical textile sectors, with positive feedback received from many quarters at the fair’s inaugural edition.

Apparel Fabrics & Fashion

In the first four months of 2024, textile and garment exports grew 6.3% year-on-year to over USD 10 billion. The US remains Vietnam’s top export market, followed by the EU, South Korea, China, and Japan. To meet this demand, Vietnam’s textile industry continues to import a significant amount of raw materials. At VIATT 2024, yarns, fibres and fabrics for casualwear, sportswear and uniforms, as well as garment accessories, were in high demand.

Speaking at the previous edition, Ms Surina Gan, Director / Chief Marketing Officer at CDX Textile, said: “In addition to trade pacts, Vietnam has also established itself with significant support networks for the textile and garment industry. This fair is a more international platform, and this is what we look forward to. We want to meet many customers and brands from all over the world such as our main markets, America and Europe, and new markets such as Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.”

At the upcoming edition, apparel textile exhibitors can showcase beyond their booths by participating in the fringe programme’s fashion shows, seminars, and more.

Home & Contract Textiles

Vietnam’s home textile market is projected to undergo a steady CAGR of 2.4% from 2024 – 2032, driven by the rising need for modern and stylish home textiles, e-commerce expansion, and favourable government initiatives. At the fair’s previous edition, product groups included bedding, loungewear and bathroom textiles, curtains and curtain fabrics, upholstery and sofa fabrics, and home textile accessories.

Showcasing Japanese tatami mats at VIATT 2024, Mr Ryosuke Nishida, from the Business Promotion Department at Kitsutaka Co Ltd, said: “At VIATT, we’ve had the opportunity to meet with real estate companies, design offices, and interior stores. Our ultimate goal is to sell our products all over the world, and our plan is to first establish a strong presence in Vietnam and then consider local production to offer a more affordable price.”

At VIATT 2025, exhibitors can additionally present their latest offerings in the Home Textiles Display Zone or at dedicated product presentations, to maximise their visibility to potential buyers.

Technical Textiles & Technologies

Across the textile industry, investors are now focusing on optimising production capacity, streamlining supply chains, and enhancing product quality to maintain competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. With the new Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone to supplement the textile technology category, VIATT 2025 is set to play host to providers of textile and nonwoven machinery, CAD/CAM, CMT, and technology for embroidery, knitting, sewing, printing, and more. Exhibitors can draw more attention to their latest solutions by participating in the fair’s new innovation showcase area.

Focusing on promoting the company’s tactile sensation analysing machine at VIATT 2024, Mr Daniel Ohndorf, Sales Area Manager at emtec Electronic GmbH, said: “For this show, we are targeting mainly Southeast Asia, such as Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, Cambodia, even Taiwan, and we have had some good contacts and discussions already. Our long-term contact with Messe Frankfurt, paired with the cooperation from our new Vietnam sales partner, led to us deciding that this fair could be a good starting point.”

By leveraging the diverse participation at its over 50 textile fairs in 13 countries, Messe Frankfurt’s Texpertise Network will enable next year’s edition of VIATT to serve as an ideal platform for connecting Vietnamese businesses with international players, facilitating cross-border trade, knowledge sharing and collaboration.

The Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), covering the entire textile industry value chain. For more details on this fair, please visit www.viatt.com.vn or contact viatt@hongkong.messefrankfurt.com.

The second edition will be held from 26 – 28 February 2025.

CHT Germany GmbH Dußlingen plant

CHT Germany GmbH is successfully on its way to becoming a sustainably acting chemical company.

With a corporate strategy consistently geared towards sustainability and a clearly defined path towards climate neutrality, we are approaching our goal step by step.

An important milestone on the way is resource-optimized production and the use of the latest technologies to save as many resources as possible. The comprehensive analysis of our processes has led us to raise container management to a sustainable level and increase the use of reusable packaging. With a corporate strategy consistently geared towards sustainability and a clearly defined path towards climate neutrality, we are approaching our goal step by step.

We keep the necessary packaging directly in circulation and reduce the overall amount of needed material. The energy required to clean and reuse existing packaging is less than that needed to recycle and produce new containers.

CHT is saving on raw materials by building a resource-efficient new container washing system and recycling the residual materials and waste that still accumulate.

With the new system, we are increasing the reuse of existing containers and can significantly reduce the procurement of new packaging (drums and IBCs). By cleaning on-site, we save on transportation and thus further resources.

With the investment of almost 5 million Euros at the Dußlingen site, we are making a significant contribution to improving our carbon footprint.

It goes without saying that the new state-of-the-art plant will be operated with maximum resource efficiency using heat from the renewable local heating network. The water circulates and comes from rainwater and the roof is used to generate renewable electricity. The PV system is dimensioned to its maximum size so that it generates more electricity than the container washing system below it needs.

At an official ground-breaking ceremony, representatives of public administration and the press were able to see our construction project for themselves and make direct contact with our company representatives. We would be delighted if you informed your target group about our project in Dußlingen and would be pleased to receive proof.

Oerlikon polymer processing solutions presents portfolio at CAITME

Caitme is considered one of the largest trade fairs for the textile industry in Central Asia. At its trade fair appearance in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Oerlikon Polymer Processing Solutions will be focussing on customer- and market-oriented complete solutions from a single source. From 11 to 14 September 2024, the machine manufacturer’s experts will be providing information about their sustainable machine and system technologies at the Textima Export Import GmbH stand in Hall 4, Stand F44 at the UEC Uzexpocentre.

Oerlikon Polymer Processing Solutions offers complete solutions ranging from polycondensation plants to texturized yarns, accompanied by automation and digital solutions. The supply of all process steps from a single source ensures a harmonized technology that guarantees the high quality of the yarn produced.

“The Uzbek market continues to develop well. The country has been known for decades for very good products in the cotton sector. However, market players are increasingly recognising the advantages and necessity of synthetically produced yarns and fibers. With our product portfolio, we offer precisely the technologies that the Uzbek textile industry needs to meet its requirements in the coming years,’ explains André Wissenberg, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. “It is important to us that we always make a contribution to sustainability with our technology solutions. Be it by increasing energy efficiency with each new generation of machines or by processing new materials,’ Wissenberg continues. Oerlikon is proud of the fact that the company has been offering innovative solutions for the textile industry under the e-save sustainability label for 20 years and has saved over 15 million tons of CO2 thanks to the machines and systems developed and installed on the market during this time.

Sustainable processes for POY and FDY production

POY yarns are the raw material for a wide range of fashion, sports, functional and home textiles. They are then textured and, at around 40%, make up the largest proportion of manmade fiber yarns produced worldwide. Oerlikon Barmag’s WINGS POY technology guarantees outstanding yarn quality with high productivity and energy efficiency. With its particularly gentle yarn path, WINGS ensures that the yarn remains as high-quality as it was when it left the spinning mill. The minimized deflection angle has a positive effect on yarn evenness, yarn tension, CV% values, and thus dyeability. A perfect package structure ensures excellent further processing properties in downstream processes such as texturing.

Fully drawn FDY yarns are processed into textile surfaces without further finishing. They are used wherever textiles need to fall smoothly or glide. Oerlikon Barmag’s WINGS concept for the FDY process stands for optimized production processes, low waste rates and energy consumption reduced by around 30 percent with the highest yarn quality. The technology can be used in the FDY process for polyester and polyamide.

DTY yarns – uncompromising quality and maximum flexibility

Texturized yarns can be used for a wide range of applications. They are used in clothing, home textiles, the automotive industry, and many other areas. Oerlikon Barmag offers a wide range of different DTY machine configurations for the efficient and sustainable production of high-quality texturized yarns from various polymers, from polyester and polyamide to polypropylene, PLA, and PTT. The modular DTY machines, equipped with sophisticated components, expertise, and proven technology, enable the production of texturized yarns for excellent further processing in downstream processes at optimum OPEX costs.

Sustainable production of staple fibers with EvoSteam

The EvoSteam process from Oerlikon Neumag stands for both resource-efficient staple fiber production and excellent fiber quality. It offers impressive savings in energy, water and raw material consumption as well as a reduction in operating costs (OPEX) and the CO2 footprint.

New bicomponent BCF yarn for the carpet market

Quality, efficiency, and performance – with its latest development in the field of bicomponent yarns for carpet production, Oerlikon Neumag is meeting the carpet market’s demand for new innovative BCF yarns. ‘The new BICO BCF yarn is characterized by a richer and higher volume while at the same time significantly reducing the consumption of raw materials in carpet production,’ explains Oerlikon Neumag BCF Sales Director for Uzbekistan Arnd Luppold. At the exhibition stand, interested parties can see sample yarns and carpets, find out more about the product range and have in-depth discussions with the experts about the advantages of BICO BCF yarn in various applications.

Heimtextil 2025: Carpets & Rugs is booming – and makes Frankfurt an annual fixed point for the global carpet industry

Frankfurt am Main, 26 June 2024. Even bigger, even more international, even higher quality: this is how the successfully established product group Carpets & Rugs presents itself at Heimtextil 2025. The segment will be even stronger at the upcoming event: Carpets & Rugs already has twice as many exhibitors, an additional hall level, and new highlights. Strong brands, exciting new products, and content formats await the international carpet industry at Heimtextil 2025 in Frankfurt.

Carpets & Rugs on course for growth: At Heimtextil 2025, the successfully established product segment grows in quality and quantity – and is already recording an enormous increase in exhibitors six months before the upcoming event: more than twice as many companies have already registered compared to the previous year. “We are very pleased about this signal from the market. It clearly reflects the industry’s need for a strong, international, and central carpet platform. This is exactly what we offer with Heimtextil in Frankfurt: a comprehensive market overview and a bundled product range combined with the highest quality. We have listened to the market and taken on board the feedback. Now it’s a matter of expanding the range, organizing it in a structured way, and presenting it to visitors in a structured manner”, explains Bettina Bär, Director Heimtextil. In 2025, the segment will grow by an entire hall level: the expanded range of high-quality hand-woven carpets and the international country pavilions are located in the additional Hall 5.0. Once again, Hall 5.1 is home to the growing segment of machine-woven carpets and also brings together the enlarged pre-production offer with fibers and yarns as well as technologies specifically for the carpet industry. Hand-knotted carpets and unique pieces, doormats, and clean-off systems as well as textile solutions for outdoor areas and contract businesses round off the unique range. Another highlight: a new carpet area is being planned together with the exhibitor Ragolle Rugs and the Belgian association Fedustria. The association will be exhibiting together with well-known exhibitors from Belgium in a high-quality joint presentation.

Strong resonance from the industry: these exhibitors are taking part

Numerous renowned companies have already confirmed their participation at Heimtextil 2025. Among them are big international names such as Bhadohi Carpets (India), Balta Home (Belgium), and Kaleen Lifestyle (India), who will exhibit for the first time at the upcoming Heimtextil. Renowned brands like Lalee OHG (Germany) and strong returnees like Heritage Overseas (India), Mittal International (India), Oriental Weavers Group (Oriental Weavers Carpets, EFCO, MAC Carpet, Egypt), Ragolle Rugs (Belgium), Rugs in Style (India), The Rug Republic (India), Tufko International (India), Universal XXI (Spain) and Vini Décor (India) have also signed up. Within the Decoteam, the carpet supplier Infloor-Girloon (Germany) and the manufactory Paulig (Germany) with unique hand-woven products will present themselves. In addition, the member companies of the Belgian association Fedustria and, for the first time, the Tunisian association Office National de L’Artisanat will show their high-quality carpets at Heimtextil.

The exhibitors confirm the successful establishment of the new product area and the role of Heimtextil as a global industry meeting point and showcase for new trends, collections, and products: “Our first participation in this year’s Heimtextil was a success; Heimtextil represents a destination for textile innovations in the home textiles industry, trends, sustainable impulses, and a variety of unique opportunities for our business. We benefited from excellent introductions and numerous new international contacts. We look forward to participating again in 2025”, says Yasmine Khamis, Chairwoman of Oriental Weavers Group.

Mittal International emphasizes the joint industry presence in the Carpets & Rugs product segment as well as the Frankfurt location as a new anchor point for the carpet industry: “We really appreciate the initiative taken by Messe Frankfurt in launching the Carpets & Rugs segment at Heimtextil. The concept was convincing across the board and met the needs of the industry. We had a successful start, a good influx of customers, and also received orders from the USA and Mexico. Carpets & Rugs as a new platform for the carpet industry is a great advantage for us, as we can focus on all segments at Heimtextil. We are even expanding our stand space in Frankfurt for 2025. We are looking forward to participating again in order to continue shaping the new product area for the future,” says Manmohan Sharma, Founding Partner of Mittal International.

The additional hall level not only offers an expanded range of exhibitor presentations and product innovations – an extensive content program also awaits visitors on the two Heimtextil stages: With business-promoting specialist presentations on current industry topics, stimulating panel discussions and exciting guided tours, Heimtextil 2025 positions itself even stronger as a valuable knowledge platform for the carpet industry. The popular Carpet Lounge in the foyer of Halls 5.1/6.1, equipped with high-quality exhibitor products, will once again bring unusual designs and new carpet trends to life in 2025 – and invite visitors to linger and network.

Heimtextil 2025 takes place from January 14 to 17, 2025.
